EDITOR'S NOTE:

Bienvenue, as our French cousins are prone to saying, With this September edition we have officially been making the Miniature Music Press for 12 months. That’s a year in anyone’s calendar! But don’t worry, we’re not going to keep going on about it. Not yet. Instead, we’re going to have a mammoth party next month as we expand our scope to include all those wayfaring types who stomp out their souls in Cardiff’s thriving club scene.But more on that later. For now, let’s spend a moment welcoming the new students who are gradually breezing into town. And most importantly, let’s revel in this city’s endlessly deep lagoon of musical mavericks. This month we have a chinwag with Pitchfork endorsed indie-darlings Los Campesinos!; we shine a light on the wondrous folk environs of Evening Chorus; and the traditional soul of The Sweet Spots is shamelessly showcased. By now, we shouldn’t need to say that we have also packed these pages full of live, release and demo reviews. Nor that we have all of the music listings this city is throwing at us. And certainly not that we are perpetually on crooked knee with our ears to the ground, listening to the pulsating spasms of the city’s culture. But enough of this nonsense.
